DBTA Names IRI Voracity a 2018 Trend-Setting Product
Data Management Platform Recognized for Roles in Big Data Integration and Governance
Melbourne, FL - January 3, 2018 -- Database Trends and Applications (DBTA) magazine has named the IRI Voracity data management platform to its list of “Trend-Setting Products in Data and Information Management for 2018.” Voracity is a software product for centrally marshalling and operating on legacy and modern data sources throughout their life cycles. Powered by interchangeable IRI CoSort or Hadoop engines and built on Eclipse, Voracity consolidates data discovery, integration, migration, governance and analytics.
According to Managing Editor Joyce Wells, DBTA used this year’s award to find those “offerings that promise to help organizations derive greater benefit from their data, make better decisions, work more efficiently, achieve greater security, and address emerging challenges.” Among those offerings are “new interfaces” like Voracity that “help bridge the gap for business users and reduce friction between modern big data technologies and the BI tools they are accustomed to working with.”
“We are proud to see Voracity get even more industry analyst and press recognition,” remarked IRI sales team leader Lisa Mangino. “By putting all the capability that DBTA described into Voracity, we were able to give our users a one-stop solution stack that saves them considerable time and money” she added. This is the third year in a row that Innovative Routines International (IRI) was recognized for its “trend-setting” products; the IRI Data Protector Suite made the 2017 list, and the company’s Eclipse GUI, IRI Workbench, made it in 2016.
“We believe the range and sophistication of Voracity’s data management capabilities are what put Voracity on DBTA’s short list. And those are the same capabilities our customers want,” Mangino continued. She went on to list Voracity’s major functions in multiple pair groups:
- Profile & Acquire - data discovery and extraction with metadata creation and management
- Cleanse & Unify - data scrubbing, enrichment, and consolidation for quality and MDM ops
- Process & Provide - data integration and reporting, or preparation for third-party BI tools
- Protect & Audit - data classification, masking, and job logging for privacy law compliance
- Express & Predict - custom or BIRT formatting and embedded stats libraries for analytics
- Convert & Replicate - data, file and DB migration, and incremental or subset data copies
- Publish & Share - federated or persisted data targets, and metadata team repositories
