IRI ‘Shield Software’ Featured Again in Gartner Market Guide for Data Masking
Only Vendor with PII Classification & Discovery, Static & Dynamic Masking, Re-ID Risk Scoring, Subsetting & Synthesis
Editor's Update Q1'20: Gartner has once again included IRI centrally in the 2019-20 guide, DarkShield was cited as a DBTA Trendsetting Product in 2019, and FieldShield is featured in the multiple market studies listing here.
Melbourne, FL - July 23, 2018 - Innovative Routines International (IRI), Inc. (www.iri.com), a leader in enterprise data management and “startpoint” (data-centric) security software, today announced its central inclusion in Gartner’s most recent Market Guide for Data Masking.
The July 2018 report recommends data masking to mitigate data risk and enable digital business transformations. Just as in the 2017 report in which IRI was also featured, both threat and compliance landscapes have continued to evolve. Data breaches, new privacy laws like the GDPR and CCPA, and the continued growth of data within organizations, all fuel demand for both static and dynamic data masking solutions.
Gartner’s Market Guide for Data Masking lists representative data masking vendors and focuses the report on the critical elements of the data masking lifecycle, which include static data masking, dynamic data masking, data redaction for unstructured and semi-structured data, and data and relationship discovery.
“Out of all the vendors in the report, IRI had the most products (five) listed, and is the only one supporting PII discovery, static data masking in 14 functional categories, and re-ID risk determination for: flat and semi-structured files in local, cloud, Hadoop, and mainframe file systems, plus relational and NoSQL databases, MS Office and PDF documents, unstructured text (chat, log, IoT) and image files, plus faces,” according to IRI SVP David Friedland.
In addition, the IRI RowGen® product is the industry’s most robust solution for generating structurally and referentially correct test data from scratch, or via DB subsetting and masking. RowGen can be used in conjunction with Data Vault 2.0, plus test data management frameworks from Value Labs (TAF) and Cigniti (BlueSwan), and in cloud infrastructures like AWS and OCI.
IRI’s static data masking products, FieldShield®, CellShield®, and DarkShield®, as well as RowGen are also included in the IRI Voracity® data management platform, which consolidates a wide range of data discovery, integration, migration, governance, and analytic technologies in a single pane of glass, built on Eclipse™. “This so IRI users can continue folding data masking into their everyday DB administration, ETL, data quality, DevOps, reporting, and data lake jobs,” Friedland added.
IRI data masking customers include Accenture, AON Hewitt, Appistry, Deloitte, MedicX, Performance Contracting Group, Texas Tech University Health Science Center, the Government of Malaysia, The Royal Bank of Scotland, and the Singapore Ministry of Health.
