Metadata management and Master Data Management (MDM) are parts of data governance and an overall enterprise information management (EIM) strategy that IRI software supports in important and unique ways.
Workflow analysis and job modification in the IRI Voracity platform supports the stewardship and persistence of metadata and master data, along with other data governance objectives, including data quality management through basic data catalog definitions of data.
Review the tabs in this section to learn how to handle, and benefit from:
Concept |
Definition |
---|---|
the descriptions and history of transaction (fact) and dimension tables, flat and index files, web logs, and other sources of data in (or distilled into) sequential structures |
|
the processes, techniques, and governance policies surrounding the development, storage, re-use, modification, sharing, analysis, and persistence of metadata |
|
mission-critical 'golden sources of truth' or reference data. These values -- such as customer details or product names -- should be unified, cleansed and secured for multiple groups to use safely in the context of MDM |
|
the metadata defining the master data, a key data catalog component |
|
the processes, techniques, and governance policies surrounding the identification, acquisition, integration (including cleansing and transformation), persistence, distribution and maintenance of master data |
